We’re Bringing Options to Tokenized Stocks
Today, we’re launching Simple Options, giving customers more ways to trade tokenized stocks on OKX. Customers across Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, the CIS region, MENA and Türkiye can trade options on tokenized NVDA, SPCX, MU, and GOOGL, with more underlyings to follow.
Bringing tokenized stocks into a unified market was our first step. Simple Options builds on that foundation. Customers can now do more with a view on the stocks they follow, whether they expect a price to rise or fall, or have a price at which they’d be happy to buy or sell. It’s an important expansion of the strategies available for tokenized stocks on OKX.
More ways to act on your view
If you think NVDA has room to rise, you can buy a call to gain exposure to that move without paying the full value of the tokenized shares. If you expect a fall, you can buy a put. You pay a premium upfront, which is the most you can lose, giving you the potential for amplified percentage returns if the price moves far enough in your favor (if it doesn’t, the option can expire worthless and you lose the full premium).
There are also ways to put the tokenized stocks you hold, or the USDT you’re ready to invest, to work. If you hold tokenized stocks, selling a covered call pays you premium in exchange for agreeing to sell them at the strike price if assigned at expiry. If you’re looking to add to your holdings, selling a cash-secured put pays you premium in exchange for agreeing to buy at the strike price if assigned. Sellers fully fund their positions from the outset with tokenized shares or USDT, held separately from their main trading account. That means there are no changing margin requirements to manage and no liquidation for insufficient margin.
Built for a clear decision
Before you trade, you can see exactly what you’re committing to. Select a contract, then review the total premium you'll pay or receive, breakeven, and potential outcomes before you confirm. You receive an all-in quote for premium, with no additional trading fees.
You can start with 0.01 contract, giving you exposure to one tokenized share. By comparison, a standard stock option contract typically covers 100 shares. Simple Options is available 24/7, so you can consider a strategy when your view changes, including outside U.S. market hours.
Options are European-style and settle at 16:00 UTC+8 on the expiry date. Buyers receive any payout in USDT, and assigned sellers buy or deliver tokenized shares at the strike price. You can close a position before the trading cutoff, subject to quote availability.
We’re building out a broader trading experience around tokenized stocks. The unified market gave customers a simpler way to access them. Simple Options adds more ways to use them, and more choice in how customers put their market views to work.
